Lean Kit Design
Seattle Aero's team is lean trained and has many years of experience in aircraft assembly, modification and component manufacturing. Our goals in designing a lean kitted solution are three-fold:
- To drive down parts costs through value engineering and competitive sourcing
- To minimize inventory costs and handling
- To improve installation cycle times in our customers' operations.
We accomplish this by working on site with our customers to develop the optimized kit configuration, staging and flow to support the most efficient installation.
Seattle Aero's typical kits consist of several hundred to thousands of part numbers including machined, fabricated and composite structural components, actuator assemblies, wiring harnesses, electrical components and assemblies, connectors and relays, gaskets, decals, sealants and a wide array of fasteners - whatever it takes to complete the installation. Each part comes bagged, tagged and identified to each step of the assembly process.
Our proprietary kitting system is web deployable and allows us to build kits to our customers' unique specifications. The system ensures that we supply our customers with what they need, where and when they need it without fail.
